About!
How do I define my art in just an about page?! I can’t limit myself to any one title or name for my practice. Yes, I am an animator but I am also a myriad of other flavors of creation. My practice is like the soup of the day at a small town restaurant. You never quite know what you’re going to get but OH MAN you know it's going to be good.
Even though I am a professional at playfulness in my art, my art is also extremely motivated. I am so driven to create. For example, after a full day of animating or 3d modeling, I enjoy going to physical mediums such as painting or sewing even though I had just made something all day. The bounds of my imagination are endless. Since I am an unstoppable force of art making and craft doing, I find that no obstacle can get in my way of creating. I eat up creative challenges for breakfast. If I can create, I simply will.
There are many key ingredients to my style as an artist. On the conceptual side of my creations, I like mashing together unexpected elements to make strangely cohesive pieces. Why not take elements that would never typically be together in this universe and amalgamate them into one playful, colorful, and surprising piece? I must have asked myself this question at one point or another because this defines my style in a very complete way. Visually, I love to use humor driven character designs, fun-loving colors, mostly simple compositions and friendly rounded aspects to my art. Going back to the soup analogy, you probably eat soup so your tastebuds and stomach are joyous, in turn making you all happy and warm. When your eyeballs eat up my art with all of its friendly shapes and added comedic flair, I want you to be able to also feel happy and warm but to also laugh and be immersed in the world I have created. I want my audience to be able to get lost in the countless flavors of my art.
This about page is barely enough space to describe something as sacred to me as my creations. All of these flavors fusing together to make what is my art creates a powerful and silly force to be reckoned with. I hope that my audience can connect with my art but also each other through shared laughter and bonding over humor that I conjure up in my created worlds.
