Senior Year!

HIHIHI! UPDATES! I have so many updates! My first semester of senior year is just starting up! I have so many interesting classes and a very very exciting trip planned that I will get to later. Before I talk about what's to come, I should start with this summer!

One of my absolute favorite projects I have been working on this summer has been creating The Strawberry Patch figures ! These stunning little creatures are 3D models of my own design. I 3D printed them originally with white PLA but after hours of surface prep I painted them with acrylic model paint. I was able to finish off these little goobers with a glossy spray paint coat. I am so happy with how they turned out and I look forward to possibly developing them further as an art toy I could sell!

This summer I have also started putting together my senior thesis concepts. I had pitched my senior thesis in May before the spring semester wrapped up. I originally had such a huge idea with multiple fight scenes, multiple characters, and multiple sets. As the semester ended and I started sketching out concepts and mapping out what I envisioned for the story, I quickly realized my project scope was MASSIVE. Not only would I need a team of people, I would also need way more than a year to complete it. From there I have since adjusted and went back to the drawing board a few times to bring you what I am currently calling “The Great Pasta Heist”!

“The Great Pasta Heist” is a 3D animated short film that I will be posting updates about very soon. I hope to give behind the scenes looks into my process and my progress on “The Great Pasta Heist” right here in the form of blog posts!

Another very exciting event coming up for this semester is my trip to Blender Conference 2026! Throughout the summer and last semester I have been planning my travels to Amsterdam Netherlands to go to the largest meetup of Blender artists in the world. I am so grateful to have received Montserrat College of Art’s professional development grant to help fund this trip. I am beyond excited to meet more people that are just as passionate about Blender as I am. I can’t wait to grow my professional network and to show other artists my own work as well. I have submitted my 3D animated short film (from my junior year spring semester) “Eye Of The Needle” to the Suzanne Awards film festival. Even if my film does not get accepted into the film festival, I am still very proud of it. I can’t wait to show lots of animation professionals what I created and I also can’t wait to see what so many other Blender artists are working on!

Stay tuned for more updates about my fabulous trip to Blender Conference! AND ALSO STAY TUNED FOR UPDATES ON MY THESIS! YAY!
