Eye Of The Needle

Music: Eye Of The Tiger by Survivor
In my junior year at Montserrat College of Art, I had the amazing opportunity to create an animated short film during the entire spring 2026 semester. At the moment I registered for this animation course, I knew I had to bring my original pin cushion tomato character to life. This little tomato pin cushion named Guy is the definition of adorable determination. Everything from the buttons on the desk to the character itself was made entirely from scratch by me! I modeled, textured, rigged, and animated everything in Eye Of The Needle with Blender 5.0. I also used Adobe After Effects for the final touches in my editing process.
Channeling all the love I carry for both art forms of sewing and animating, I created the perfect animated sewing companion. While being small, cute, and mighty, Guy is ready to face his mission of picking up all the pins on the sewing desk. Guy’s determination in this animation is paired with the epic song “Eye Of The Tiger” by Survivor.
Throughout my process of making this short film I learned so much about the animation production pipeline and everything that goes into making a 3D animated short film with blender. I explored so many new techniques with not only modeling, rigging and animating, but I also dove into new texturing and lighting methods with Cycles.
